Watching Community Form

Hello Ministry Partners, Friends, Family and Supporters!!

Thank you for taking the time to read about how one ministry has been doing in one community on one university in such a large world that needs Jesus. I am humbled when I think about the role that I get to play in helping build Jesus' Kingdom at UNT where there is so much opportunity for Jesus to be known. Without your generosity I would not be able to have this new experience which has been such a blessing. It is hard to think about how God is using me when it is so clear to me how much he is doing in my life through others and the Denton Community.

Worship at our Thursday Night
Fellowship Meeting

It is so sweet to be several weeks into the school year now. I recognize that I have been very blessed, relationships with guys in the community are growing exponentially! I am starting to feel at home with my roomates and being in Denton, real friendship centered around Jesus and genuine care for one another is happening around me. It is so comforting and exciting to see Jesus work around me. A few weekends ago the guys leader team took a trip to my parents cabin in Oklahoma where we got to rest from working so hard to meet people early in the semester as well as spend more quality time together.

UNT guys leader team

Getting closer to the guys on the leader team at UNT has made Denton feel a lot more like home. Joking together, confessing with one another, praying together, and discussing what's going on in our lives and ministry has been bringing us together. There is something so neat about being part of a team that all has the same mission, to make and mature disciples. These guys love Jesus and each other well and the community wouldn't succeed without their faithfulness to their fellow students.

Something Jesus has been reminding me of constantly is that it is His work through me that is bringing and that my works will achieve nothing. I find myself confused when I see that God has used me in someone's life because I know that I am full of sin and in much need of looking more like Jesus. Recently one of the guys that I am studying the bible with one on one confessed sin to me that he told me he hasn't mentioned to many other people. We both got emotional and he was very grateful after I responded with grace and encouraged him to go to God and confess his sins. This student is someone who had been running from his faith the last several years and recently shared with me that he feels like he should go back and let people know that were encouraging him to look into faith that he is now in fact doing that. In many ways with this student who is quickly becoming a friend I feel like I am the one who is getting to do the reaping after everyone else's labor. If you could be praying for God to continue working in his life and for him to how much he needs him and for him to ultimately make Jesus lord of his life I would appreciate that.

One of the Apprenticeship Classes

Classes have been a big part of the apprenticeship, especially recently. I have read parts of the Old Testament that I have never read before and I am getting a better understanding of the entire story of scripture. This has already been helpful when ministering to people in my one on one studies with them. Classes like Spiritual Leadership, a maturing class, a financial stewardship class, a general ministry questions class, an evangelism class, preaching labs, and Old Testament foundations. There have been so many spiritual leaders around me that have been pouring into me and the other apprentices. There is so much to learn and God is doing a work in all of our lives and the lives of the people in our sphere of ministry. Praise God that He is so faithful and looks out for His children!! Thank you so much for reading this and praying for this ministry!
